🚨 Emergency Evacuation Plan
🛑 Bombing / Missile Strike Safety Rules
DURING AN ATTACK — Immediate Actions
- DROP to the floor immediately — get below window level
- Move to an interior room with NO windows (bathroom, corridor, stairwell)
- Get behind concrete/brick walls — they stop shrapnel
- If in a tower, go to the LOWEST floor you can reach (stairwell core)
- Cover your head and neck with arms. Face DOWN
- Open your mouth slightly (equalizes pressure from blast wave)
- DO NOT stand near windows — glass is the #1 killer in bombings
- DO NOT go to the roof or balcony to look
- DO NOT use elevators — take stairs only
WATER & SUPPLIES — Have Ready NOW
- Fill bathtub and all containers with water NOW (desal plants are targets)
- Keep 20L minimum per person (3 day supply)
- Fill car fuel tank above 75% — always
- Cash: withdraw AED 3,000+ and some USD (ATMs may go offline)
- Charge all devices. Get a power bank. Keep radio with batteries
- Pack a go-bag: passport, water, food bars, first aid, phone charger, cash, meds
AFTER A STRIKE — Next Steps
- Wait 5+ minutes before moving — secondary strikes are common
- Check yourself and others for injuries (you may not feel wounds from adrenaline)
- If building damaged, evacuate via stairs — check for structural cracks
- Cover mouth with wet cloth if dust/smoke (N95 is better)
- Move UPWIND from any fires or chemical smell
- Go to your pre-planned fallback location (see above)
- DO NOT run toward the blast site — first responders need clear access
- DO NOT use phone for calls unless emergency — networks will be overloaded. Use SMS/WhatsApp text
- DO NOT drink tap water until authorities confirm desal plants are operational
IF CHEMICAL / TOXIC CLOUD
- Go INDOORS immediately. Close all windows and doors
- Turn OFF air conditioning (it pulls outside air in)
- Seal gaps under doors with wet towels
- Move to highest floor (most chemical gases are heavier than air)
- Wear N95 mask or wet cloth over nose and mouth
- DO NOT go outside until official all-clear
